FAQ

What is an Ethscription?

An ethscription is a method of creating and sharing digital artifacts on the ethereum blockchain through transaction call data. the first ethscription was created on May 29, 2016. The next 10 ethscriptions were created over the following 7 years.

What is the fee structure?

Skrybe takes a flat 0.0005 ETH fee on every mint for every project on the platform. A base-fee will be calculated based on your collections largest file that will be added on-top of your mint price. This means even if you set the mint price to 0, there will still be a 0.0005 ETH service fee + whatever the base-fee for ethscribing your content is.

How does it work?

We use a proprietary system of Smart Contracts and backend infrastructure to provide a smooth and consistent minting experience for creators and users. Inspired by the tech that has powered the best minting experience available on Ethscriptions so far (mfpurrs, peeperz, inscripigeons, nerdies, scriptoadz, and more!), we have created a robust minting system that ensures no duplicates are created.

What are the limitations?

Right now we are limiting collection sizes to 10,000 and file sizes per image to 90kb. 96kb is the blockchain limit, however the base-fee is going to be ridiculous on large filesizes.
